About the Shop

My shop is a special place where I create custom hand built furniture, vintage inspired musical instruments and various wooden accessories using old world artisan techniques. To do this efficiently, I use a combination of hand tools and human powered machines. There is definitely a place for large power tools on an industrial scale, construction sites and cabinet shops. Up until the industrial revolution, there were many cabinetmakers, jointers, and luthiers, around the world working by hand crafting masterpieces. By using a few human powered tools, I build handmade pieces at reasonable prices. Machines include foot powered mortiser, lathe, table and jig saw, hand crank rip saw, and drill press. These help me work with a low carbon footprint, using minimal electricity.
